How to Start
Getting Started for Roofing
North Sky Roofing Company is thrilled to be trying to work with you, and we’d like you to be fully prepared when we start your project. We aim to make this process as straightforward, clean, and transparent as possible. On the other hand, construction projects can be stressful for some household members, such as children and pets. It must be considered before the start of the project, and suitable provisions and solutions must be made to avoid any inconvenience. Please review the following details to understand what to do before we arrive to ensure the security of your house and belongings and what else to expect throughout this process.
Inside Your House
- The roofing method can make vibration down to your home's foundation. As a result, we recommend taking precautions to safeguard any fragile items (such as collectibles, mirrors, or pictures) by trying to remove people from the wall surfaces and racks and storing them in a secure location. The owner is informed that any damage to the objects will be the owner's and his insurance company's responsibility.
- Debris and dust will drop into the loft and, occasionally, the home's interior. You are advised to eliminate or cover any items you do not wish to become dirty or damaged.
- During the tear-off and re-roofing process, all ceilings may experience "nail pops" and "tape cracks." It cannot be avoided. The homeowner is responsible for these repairs. The contractor will protect other unpredicted damage to the building and house items, as promised, before the work begins. All other interior building damage is protected for 45 days after completion.
Outside of Your Residence
- We will require using your entire carport, so please keep the area clean and any necessary automobiles out of the garage. Throughout the project, components will typically be stashed on the roof, driveway, or around the boundary of your home. Before delivery, any special instructions for placing materials or equipment must be communicated to your North Sky Roofing Company representative.
- Because of the noise and risk of items falling, all of the following products must be removed or moved away from the home's perimeter to avoid being damaged or broken: Plants in pots and hanging baskets, BBQ grills, patio furniture, exterior lighting, and other outdoor decorations
- The crew may be able to assist you in relocating larger or heavier items.
- If there is a satellite dish on the roof, it must be removed. We will reformat it if you use it, but you may have to contact your cable company to realign it.
- The crews may be asking for the power outlets. If you are not going to be home, please check that your external outlets are operational or make other arrangements for an electric cord to be made available.
- On the surface where it is installed, new roofing will form. The shingles will not conceal areas of unevenness, sags, or rises in the roof structure. If there is a structural issue in these areas, our company's Spokesperson can address it and present repair options. Due to product storage and shipping, some roofs will appear elevated, not sitting as flat, and so on after the initial installation. As the sun heats the roof and the item has time to lie down, it will flatten out.
- During the roofing process, certain materials (trim panels, siding, fascia, etc.) must be removed to correctly install other roofing items that will safeguard your home from future leakages. Our company Inspector will notify you of any areas around the house where the paint may need to be touched up
- Following the completion of the project, the crew will thoroughly clean the border of your home, walkways, and driveway. Our technicians will use a large magnet to gather nails and metal debris. Collecting every nail is nearly impossible, and you might come across a bunch or two.
